Chip Yates | SWIGZ Racing

Chip Yates | SWIGZ Racing

If you think the electric motor can not compete with gasoline motor, you are wrong. The development of electric-powered motor has boomed. In fact, one of the products of this type, the motor of the team SWIGZ Chip Yates Racing could be the runner-up in the Heavyweight Twins race Wera Superbike & Superstock, Fontana, California. Though it's not the motor manufacturer, but rather the work of individuals.

With a maximum speed to 158 mph (254 km / h), one of the riders Chip Yates finished in second place with a very convincing in Heavyweight Twins Superstock class Wera, while the other one too successful racer on the podium in third place in class Heavyweight Twins Superbike Wera, racing against the KTM RC8 Superbike and Ducati 1198.

Team SWIGZ best lap recorded at 1:39 AutoClub Speedway, eight seconds faster than the previous day's training laps at Fontana. However, not all goes smoothly, the team still struggling to overcome a battery cell that crashed, which could potentially cause further problems if you later want to join a special race electric motorcycle. Even so, it is worth noting that this is not a motor bike manufacturer and racer who fell race was not a professional racer.

Here's the video during the race:
